Walking in the Troutbeck valley is a real treat
Great place to have a run and meet other usually friendly dogs! Lots of interesting sniffs. Must remember to tell your owner to clean up after you as you don’t want other owners stepping in it and stopping the field being a pleasant place to walk.
The Dog Field
Benji recommends the following for your dog’s Lake District holiday - and you might enjoy them too!
Dogs are very welcome at Riverside Lodge and Puddleduck Lodge and stay free of charge. We do ask that you keep them off the furniture. Limefitt park is a very dog-friendly place but dogs must be kept on a lead around the Park and always clean up after them.

Walking the dog
The Lake District is a fantastic place for dog walking and lots of great walks (for dogs and humans) start  from right outside the Lodge door – you don’t even have to go in the car. Some take you along footpaths up over the fells behind the Limefitt park, others can take you up the Troutbeck valley and to Troutbeck village where there are two pubs that welcome dogs! Maps and books are available  in the lodges for dog walking ideas, both nearby and further afield.
Places that are Dog Friendly
All steamers on the Lakes allow dogs.
Boat Hire companies usually allow you to take dogs
Ravenglass and Eskdale minature  railway and Haverthwaite steam railway
Muncaster Castle (dogs in grounds but not in the house)

The Lake District pubs are nearly all dog friendly and welcome dogs in the bar areas but some still don’t. These are some of my favourite pubs that definitely allow me in.
The Queen’s Head at Troutbeck
The Mortal Man at Troutbeck
The Tower Bank Arms at Near Sawrey
The Talbot at Skelwith Bridge
The Britannia at Elterwater
The Three Shires Little Langdale
The Watermill at Ings where they even give me biscuits!
